If you attend Cedar Park High School, then the easy answer is YES! League rules dictate that any high school student can play for Cedar Park as long as any of the following applies:
1) Attends Cedar Park High School
2) Is zoned for Cedar Park High School but attends a private school or high school without a lacrosse program
3) Cedar Park High School is the shortest driving distance to the student’s home address or high school address over any other current THSLL program (e.g. Rouse, Vista Ridge, Vandegrift, Westwood). This would include Point Venture and Lago Vista High School.
No. The coaching staff is committed to teaching and developing new players of any age. Our goal is to make sure everyone is an asset to the team, and the coaches make sure to find ways to utilize each player’s individual strengths.
There are several costs associated with joining the Cedar Park lacrosse team. Equipment required to play the sport starts around $200-$300. Current and former players are always willing to loan out a equipment so potential players can try the sport or play their first season. Registration for the team is $1800. However, cost should never be prohibitive to playing the game. Scholarships, payment plans, and other options exist to be sure players can take the field.
In the fall, we practice Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30-6:00 pm at Cypress Elementary. We may join a tournament or schedule scrimmages in late November, early December. In the spring, we practice Monday-Thursday 4:30-6:30 pm and Saturdays 2:00-4:00 pm at Cedar Park High School. Games are typically played on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Absolutely! Join us at practice in the fall or in January, and we’ll teach your son the basics, loan him some gear, and let him give it a shot.
